ENVIRONMENTAL ASPECT AND IMPACT TRAINING

18jun9:00 am5:00 pmENVIRONMENTAL ASPECT AND IMPACT TRAINING1 DAY PROGRAM (THU) VENUE: ONLINE VIA ZOOM

Event Details

INTRODUCTION

The Environmental Aspect and Impact (EAI) assessment is a critical requirement for organisations seeking to strengthen environmental governance, ensure regulatory compliance, and align with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) expectations. As sustainability becomes a key business priority, organisations are increasingly required to identify, evaluate, and manage the environmental impacts arising from their operations, products, and services. This includes not only compliance with legal requirements but also meeting stakeholder expectations for responsible and sustainable business practices.

In Malaysia, compliance with the Environmental Quality Act 1974 requires organisations to control pollution and minimise environmental harm. At the same time, international standards such as ISO 14001 mandate the systematic identification of environmental aspects and evaluation of their impacts as part of an effective Environmental Management System (EMS). Organisations are also expected to demonstrate continuous improvement in environmental performance through proper monitoring, documentation, and control measures. Failure to manage environmental aspects may result in regulatory penalties, reputational risks, operational inefficiencies, and potential disruptions to business continuity.

This programme is designed to provide participants with a structured and practical approach to environmental aspect, and impact assessment in line with ISO 14001 and ESG frameworks. Participants will learn how to determine significant environmental aspects, implement appropriate control measures, and integrate environmental considerations into organisational processes. Emphasis is placed on practical application, enabling participants to develop and maintain aspect and impact registers, support compliance requirements, and contribute to organisational sustainability goals. The programme ultimately enables organisations to enhance environmental performance while supporting long-term business resilience and responsible growth.
