COURSE OVERVIEW
Why do some leaders feel overloaded even when they have a team to support them? Why do employees wait for instructions instead of taking ownership? In many organisations, leaders are promoted because of their technical ability, but they may still struggle to delegate effectively, empower others and hold people accountable without creating tension.
Poor delegation often leads to confusion, repeated follow-up, delayed work, low ownership and over-dependence on the leader. Some leaders avoid delegation because they feel it is faster to do the work themselves. Others delegate tasks but not authority, responsibility or clear expectations. As a result, employees may complete work without understanding priorities, standards or the expected outcome.
This programme is designed to help leaders move from “doing everything” to “developing people.” Participants will learn how to delegate the right task to the right person, communicate expectations clearly, provide support without micromanaging, empower employees to make better decisions and build accountability through follow-up and feedback. The programme also addresses common workplace challenges such as resistance, lack of initiative, mistakes after delegation and poor follow-through. By the end of the programme, participants will be able to lead with greater confidence, trust and clarity. They will understand how effective delegation and empowerment can improve team performance, strengthen employee ownership and allow leaders to focus on higher-value responsibilities.
